Drive Strategic Growth – Transform Opportunities with QAA

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is the UK's trusted independent body, dedicated to ensuring students receive a world-class education. While our work supports the higher education sector, this role demands leadership rooted in strategic business-to-business environments. We collaborate with institutions, governments, and stakeholders to set the gold standard in quality assurance, delivering professional services that empower our members to thrive in competitive national and global arenas.

As our next Executive Director of Development and Engagement, you will lead the strategic growth and commercialisation of QAA’s membership and professional services portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver robust business development strategies in a professional services context, focusing on innovation and scaling our offer to meet diverse and evolving market demands. Key responsibilities include embedding a high-performing team, enhancing internal communications, and ensuring stakeholder engagement with a customer-centric approach.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Drive business growth: Lead the execution of B2B sales and marketing strategies, capitalising on opportunities to expand QAA’s reach and impact.

  • Strengthen professional services: Shape service delivery that meets sector needs, combining innovative membership and product development with operational excellence.

  • Foster collaboration and engagement: Cultivate partnerships that enhance QAA’s reputation as a leader in professional services for higher education institutions.

  • Embed innovation: Develop creative approaches to membership engagement and services to ensure relevance and sustainability in a changing landscape.

We are seeking a proven leader with expertise in complex B2B environments, professional service delivery, and strategic growth. Your ability to think commercially while aligning with QAA’s commitment to quality and student outcomes will be critical. A track record of successfully driving membership growth, stakeholder engagement, and operational transformation is essential.

This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in defining the future of quality assurance while working at the intersection of education, professional services, and business innovation.
